LiRa Dance Theatre Company dances its way into Season 11. Their showcase “SOAR” celebrates the last ten years with both Co-Artistic Directors LIsa Conlin (Conlin Choreography) and Raena Rasmussen Choreography and Direction as well as guest choreographers: Marlayna Locklear of North Carolina and Sioux Falls Regan O’Connor, Kristen Jost, Thomas Nguyen, and Mary Rogers. The Rise Up Artist Mentorship Showcase includes ten young rising artist students paired with ten working professional artists in the Sioux Falls Community and beyond. The show case highlights ten pieces the mentors and mentees have worked on over a four month period. This dynamic camp experience, hosted by Levitt at the Falls and Augustana University School of Music, is designed to inspire creativity and build community through music and dance. Campers will explore lyric development, purpose-driven creativity, beat making, hip-hop dance styles, and music production tools in an action-packed week of programming.The week will culminate with an unforgettable performance on the Levitt stage, showcasing the work of the campers alongside a professional musical artist as part of a Levitt Series concert event.We are thrilled to announce the return of instructors Sheku Bannister and Frank Cook, along with our new dance teacher, Lisa Conlin—fun fact: Lisa is the mom of Georgia, who helped out last year! We’d love to see you back at camp, reconnecting with friends, growing as an artist, and shining on stage.
